The RASS-M (Radar Analysis Support System for Maintenance) kit from Intersoft Electronics is a compact, portable solution designed for radar technicians to perform comprehensive maintenance and performance evaluations of both Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR) and Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) systems. It enables efficient diagnostics with minimal disruption to radar operations by interfacing with existing signal outputs under live operational conditions .


📏 What You Can Measure with RASS-M
The RASS-M kit encompasses several specialized tools, each targeting specific aspects of radar system performance:

- Antenna Measurements: Assess both uplink and downlink antenna patterns to verify alignment and performance.

- Solar Recording: Utilize solar noise (sun-strobe) to evaluate the Vertical Polar Diagram (VPD) and coverage patterns of PSR antennas.

- Video Recording: Capture and analyze radar video signals in both window-based and sectorial formats for detailed signal assessment.

- Gyro Recording: Evaluate the mechanical integrity and alignment of the antenna support structure by measuring angular velocity and planar angles, aiding in the assessment of encoder accuracy and platform leveling .

- Pulse Power Meter: Measure and record the amplitude, shape, and timing of radar pulses, providing insights into transmitter performance characteristics such as pulse width and rise/fall times.
